Our Team
Doug - Technician
I was born in Iowa, but have lived in Alaska since 1976. In my off time instead of working on cars, I work on race cars. Working on race cars was what got me into working as a mechanic in the first place. I started working on cars when I was 12 years old and have ever since. I currently race at Alaska Raceway Park and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I like the challenge of doing something better than everyone else, so my constant goal is to make sure my race car runs better than anyone else’s. Which means I usually treat my customers vehicles with the same pride I treat my racecar. I love being a mechanic for that feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction, just like the feeling I get when I win a race.
Experience: I have been working for Agen’s since 1990. I have been working on vehicles since I was 12 years old. I went to school at the Phoenix Institute of Technology for Automotive Repair. With racing I have worked on numerous types of racecars including dragsters as well as dirt and oval. I have won 8 championships at various race tracks throughout my racing career. I have been ASE Master certified since I was 20 years old, and still continue my training through NAPA with their Autotech training program.
Key - Shop Helper
I am originally from California and moved to Alaska in 2015. I’m not a big city person, so I love the outdoors and being able to take photos, hike, fish, camp, pretty much anything I can get my hands on in Alaska. At Agen’s my job is to help wherever I am needed, whether it’s in the shop, in the office, or out on the storage lot. My usual day consists of moving vehicles in and out for car storage customers and covering the front office. I do a little bit of everything at Agen’s and am not afraid to get my hands dirty
Experience: I am a high school graduate with a college business degree. I participate in the training provided by Napa, as well as work on my own vehicles at home. Though I do not complete automotive repair work at Agen’s, I have a general amount of knowledge regarding repairs to help any customer in need.
Madison - Service Manager
I was born and raised in Anchorage, AK and have lived here all my life. I have been with Agen’s since 2015. In my off time I love to edit graphics, photos, videos, pretty much anything I can record or take a picture of I end up editing. My job at Agen’s is customer service, and making sure you as our customer understand the value of the services we provide. Coming from a background of limited vehicle knowledge, I understand what it is like to be the customer on the other side of the counter with little to no knowledge about vehicles. Now I am determined to spread the knowledge I have acquired in my experience/training to you, our customer, so you can make decisions to better extend the life, safety, and performance of your vehicles.
Experience: I have been with Agen’s since 2015. Although this is my first job in the Automotive industry I quickly adapted to the profession and what it requires. I am a high school graduate. I stay current on the Automotive industry and attend any and all classes/training available to me through Napa. You don’t need to be an expert to be a service consultant, all you need is a good heart, a good technician, and a relatable understanding to the everyday life and needs of a customer, all of which I proudly provide.
Steve - Technician
I was born in Washington, but have been in Alaska for 42 years, most of my life. I have been with Agen’s since 2008, and love being a mechanic because I am always learning and fixing challenging issues. For me it’s about the mystery and finding those oddball problems with your vehicle as well as the common ones. In my off time I love fishing, camping, and riding dirt bikes all while spending time with family.
Experience: I have been a mechanic since I was 20 years old. I have been an ASE Certified Master Technician since I was 27 years old. I have plenty of expertise in the Automotive Industry with over 30 years of experience. I was 2017 ASE technician of the year. I still continue my training through NAPA, especially with all the new changes being added to vehicles every year.
Steve-O - Technician
I was born in Canada and moved to Alaska at 5 years old. In my off time I am very active and enjoy dirt biking, snow machining, hunting, restoring old cars, and playing hockey. I love being a mechanic because when you fix something that was previously broken and hard to fix it gives me a sense of accomplishment; a job well done. I feel like I don’t work a day in my life when I’m fixing cars, and that’s how it should be.
Experience: I have over 30 years of experience when it comes to working on vehicles. I have been ASE certified for over 25 years. I attend any and all Napa Autotech classes to stay up to date with the latest on vehicles.
